How to Search
In order to search for ingredients, you must do the following:
- Log in to CleanGredients℠. If you do not have a password, you will need to subscribe.
- Hover your mouse cursor over the Search link in the horizontal menu at the top of the page and select an ingredient type. This should take you to the Search criteria page.
Conducting a Search
- You can search for ingredients using various criteria.
- Select your criteria by selecting an ingredient attribute in the top drop-down list. Examples include Supplier, Application, Biodegradation, and DfE Screen.
- Once you select an ingredient attribute, the space below the drop-down list should change to display the appropriate input field(s) for that attribute. Enter your value(s) for the attribute.
- Once you are done selecting your criteria, click the Search button. Search results should be returned below the criteria.
Sorting and Interpreting Results
- After conducting a search, all relevant results will be displayed in a table directly below the search fields. The table lists each matching ingredient as well as the associated attribute data.
- To sort the search results table, click the column heading for the attribute of interest. Click on the table header a second time to reverse the sort order.
- To view more detailed information about an ingredient, click on the ingredient name. This should open the ingredient detail pages, where you will find more in-depth information about the ingredient, including general information, physical-chemical attributes, and human and environmental health attributes. You can select among these categories of information using the options in the left navigation menu, as well as view the attributes organized by tier. You will also find the individual components that constitute the ingredient, if the supplier has elected to reveal them.
